Summary

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Central Plant Automations Programming Engineer is responsible for overseeing the electrical/mechanical systems of the central plant, including maintenance and troubleshooting. This role improves the central plant’s efficiency, upgrades new technologies, repairs equipment, increases production, and reduces utility issues including bottlenecks. This role is also responsible for reviewing operational plans to ensure the machinery and processes meet compliance regulations. The Central Plant Automations Programming Engineer reviews project plans, interprets developments throughout the process, and gives advice for necessary changes.

With superior effectiveness, impact, and efficiency; the Central Plant Automations Programming Engineer plans, prepares, and practices for emergency scenarios. This role is expected to provide ongoing monitoring and respond to all emergency situations involving the central plant to assist with the restoration of services. When not actively addressing an emergency, this role implements industry best practices driving immediate operational and financial impact to Yaamava’ Resort & Casino. This role holds ultimate accountability to lead plant operations through all emergency scenarios while under considerable pressure. The Central Plant Automations Programming Engineer serves as point of contact to lead, direct and report to Yaamava’ Resort & Casino leadership the status and recovery plans (both strategic and tactical).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1.

Develops, collaborates, and implements operational plans for projects including retrofits, control sequencing, system upgrades or maintenance and machine installation.

2.

Ensures the facility complies with relevant regulations and conducts regular software engineering checkups, preventative maintenance to verify the machinery and operations are safely operating.

3.

Conducts sequencing tests to identify potential system failures, evaluates plant machinery, and promptly remediates problems to ensure system stabilization.

4.

Prepares and revises electrical controls-operations switch gear, material, and service contract specifications, reviews bids, recommends awarding of contracts, and acts as project manager representative of contracts.

5.

Incorporates technical knowledge and feedback into system and equipment improvement instructions and collaborates with facilities team members to carry out recommendations with direction from the Facilities Manager.

6.

Responds to emergency calls and remains onsite until services are restored, and an operational handoff is completed. Plays an active role by presenting the root cause and any areas of opportunity in postmortem project meetings.

7.

Keeps current with industry metering and measuring equipment. Evaluates the need for new equipment to maintain plant proficiency and requisitions materials, tools, chemicals, and equipment as required by the task for the plant.

8.

Supports the Utility Authority in the execution of a preventive maintenance (PM) system.

9.

Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
